/// I got intp penn state and purdue ( engineering) and here's the issue...

I'm interested in going to a law school OR doing my MBA.

Now to get into top schools with scholarship ..for example Harvard Law School
you need a GPA of 3.8+...now I've heard that attaining that GPA is easier at penn state( Purdue has very low GPA inflation)

i know that purdue is a better engineering school ..but graduating with high GPA is really hard there

This is the info I have gathered from various sources..Is this TRUE?
Please advise... where should I go?

According to a few ppl I know----
PSU- good school..reputed engr program..will most likely graduate with a high GPA

Purdue- better engr school..might not graduate with a high GPA

---want to get into Wharton(business) or yale law school..you get the idea.
THANKS

Are you planning on a high LSAT? If so, your undergrad gpa can be overcome by showing the rigor of the course work. A high gpa alone is not going to get you in anywhere.

Is Yale law the best school for a patent lawyer? It may not be. They are a different breed, and other patent lawyers (those hiring you) may not be as impressed with Yale as you are. Those guys might prefer to see the best engineer, who also happens to be a lawyer. It is a very small club. They may think Georgetown is better because it is in DC and closer to the action.

Do not live such a numbers driven life. Pick the school where you think you’ll do the best, learn the most.

Course rigor does not come into play at all when applying to law school. GPA and LSAT matter the most. If you are set on MBA or law school, I’d go with Penn State if you feel you will get a higher GPA there. By the way, friends daughter was not a Engin major (I think she was neuroscience undergrad major) and went to St. Johns law school- not highly ranked (full scholarship so she picked it instead of higher ranked) and got a job in patent lawy almost immediately. When in law school try to get summer internships in a patent law office.

Chance me- PM me again if you want. One son is currently in law school and the other as you know is a recent grad of Mech and Aero Engineering. Seems like you have a great plan.

Easy to get GPA = many people having high GPA = not that competitive applicant…
else all the top schools will be filled with students from unis where high GPA is common…
just my 2 cents…
