Helpp please(:

I'm hoping to get into one of the ivies or other prestigious schools such as Amherst, Swarthmore, northwestern, etc.

I think I want to major in some type of engineering or a science field.

I got a 2300 on the SAt first sitting, but got a 700 on the math portion (pretty low for ivy standards,) I got an 800 on the Math2 subject test though, and feel like i got a 5 on the AP Calc BC test. I'm also a sophomore, and a girl.

Will my other scores make up for the comparatively low math score? Ifeel like they will, but I'm not positive. I'd appreciate any feedback!(:

A 700 is not low by any standards. You have a 1500 Math+CR which is right on par for prestigious schools.

You don’t need to worry about “making up” for a 700 in math, unless you are applying as a STEM major. Even then, it’s not a big deal.

If you really care, just retake the SAT. Study a lot for math and you should be able to get 800, which would be a 2400 superscore which is obviously amazing. It’s pretty straightforward. Do all the math practice tests in the blue book.

Other than that, make sure your ECs stand out. Top school admissions are much more than a GPA and sat score.
