Good to great essay
Rec from a teacher who loves me

In my WA it says "A decision will be sent in the mail." Am i really rejected? Not even at least deferred with those stats?

AP Calc B/C Exam (taken as junior): 5 (5 subscore)
AP US History Exam (taken as sophomore): 4
AP Government Exam (taken as junior): 3
AP Language & Composition Exam (taken as junior): 5

Hmm intresting, I'd be very surprised if you were flat-out rejected with a 3.4 + 34/2300, but I can't say I've heard of good things from ppl with "A decision will be sent in the mail" :/

ditto. That's a tough break. Where else did you apply/ were accepted?

Wow. It's hard to imagine you being rejected with those stats, especially since you applied all the way back in November.

You could definitely consider appealing your decision (and sending in midyear report, new awards, etc.)

Yeah I guess I'll appeal, but I don't understand why I'd get rejected when so many people I know are g etting deferred with literally worse stats in every category.

Would any of your teachers have secretly sent in loathing teacher recs? Could any of your essays be construed as arrogant or pompous? Because other than that, I don't know how you wouldn't get in.

I could see how he wouldn't get in, I just don't see how he would get flat-out rejected... :/

Did you forget to send something in? Maybe your transcripts?

Everything is confirmed to be sent in.

Are you instate? Well either way I think that its ridiculous to get rejected w/ those stats

call them up and make sure they have the right application + stats. i read on this board once that two ppl who have the same name apparently had their files mixed or something

hm..
sometimes i dont understand umich

Forget other deferred people. Every person I know that has been accepted, including myself, pales in comparison to those stats.

If they don't let you in, they are losing out on a great thing.

maybe they're that adamant about the whole GPA thing, which would be retarded... but those stats make me nervous to apply next year. Yea if they don't accept you then college admissions is truly a crap shoot.
