<p>I'm having a hard time deciding between UCI and UCSB. UCI seems like a better option because its close to where I live (~45 mins away) vs. UCSB which is close to 2 hrs. </p>

<p>I plan on doing pre-med.. so which of these two universities is better for that? What majors is each good for??</p>

<p>Another question.. since there is a high population of asians in UCI.. does it make it harder to maintain a high gpa? Is there a lot of competition?? </p>

<p>UCI specializes in biology while UCSB specializes in engineering. The competition level is going to be about the same at both universities. Personally I'd recommend UCI, but you should go to UCSB and check it out. You might fall in love with it. I have a lot of friends that did with the partying and campus's beauty.</p>
