helppppppp

I am currently working on my UCSD application and I am wondering if I need to input ALL of the classes I have taken...meaning, even the classes that aren't transferable?! I went to Sonoma State University my freshman year and got an F in Elementary Algebra. Then I transferred to a community college in San Diego and took Elementary Algebra again and got an A. Do I need to put that I took both of the classes even though I took it again at a different college? THANKS!

Yes, you have to report all classes you have taken. Along with all colleges you have ever attended/enrolled. Even if they’re not transferrable, they’re still inputted.

Negative. Last year when I submitted my UC app, it only stated that you report UC transferrable courses. I also took elementary, intermediate algebra and reported neither. I got into UCSD, and had no issues with admissions.

USMC, that goes against almost everything I’ve been told… how curious.

wrong. You enter all the courses you have ever taken and after you enter them the system automatically puts “CCCT” next to each course to denote that it is transferable. You probably didn’t had any issues because you didn’t raise any red flags. It’s not really a big deal but it’s always better to err on the side of caution for a situation like this.

If you are really unsure and want a definite answer, you could just call UCSD admissions…

The app states that you are to input only UC transferrable courses into the system. I dont think it even let me input those non transferrable classes. Either way my transcript included those classes, if I were wrong I would think UCSD would have called me on omitting information.

anonymous is correct though. You should call admissions, and find out from the horses mouth what they want.

You are soooooo wrong USMC. The Cal & UCLA reps specifically said put EVERYTHING on your app. Basically, you want to put everything down that’s on your transcript.

Only UC-transferable courses get counted, but I, too, have heard from numerous sources that ALL courses must be listed on your application, whether transferable or not.

I found this on the UC website.

When evaluating transfer applicants, does UC consider nontransferable courses? One of our student’s transcripts is strong overall, though he has two grades of C in nontransferable remedial math courses taken during his first year. How will these courses affect his application, if at all?

While the University requires that transfer students report all coursework, only transferable courses are used to calculate the GPA. Admissions evaluations focus on grades in college-level courses. Though campuses may look at remedial work, performance in transferable courses is much more important.

I stand corrected. Guess I got away with it. I had A’s in all those classes though thats why they probably didnt care.

Alright, so I need to input ALL classes, even the non-transferable ones… Thank you for your help guys!!! :)

I answered this question in a different thread you posted. Did you not believe me? Lol
