Herbert Presidential Scholarship

Okay, so I was on the IU website, and I was reading about the Herbert Presidential Scholarship.

Just wanting to make sure I was reading right. There isn't an application for it? I just have to hope I get nominated by IU as an incoming freshman?

Also do any of you knowledgeable people know what kind of students have been nominated in the past?

I got a 32 on the Act [34-English, 30-Math, 36-Reading, 29-Science]
GPA is 3.92 unweighted
Top 6% of my class

You need to be an Indiana Resident and completed SSA by Dec1 …did you?

By Dec 1st? No  I turned it in by the Dec 15th deadline though. So I’m automatically out of the running then?

yes, you are out of luck. Indiana has extremely early deadlines. They are already interviewing for the Presidential scholarships at IUPUI and decisions for all campuses will be given in early February. Did you get your Honors College scholarship essays submitted in time? That can bring in some additional funds.

Hmfinn: The above information you’ve been given on here, is incorrect. Preference for HPS is given to students who have applied for admission to IU by the November 1 scholarships deadline. [Nomination Scholarships: Office of Scholarships: Indiana University Bloomington](<a href=“Future Scholars: Office of Scholarships: Indiana University Bloomington”>Future Scholars: Office of Scholarships: Indiana University Bloomington) You had to have applied for admission by Nov 1st, because you stated you received an SSA – Nov 1st is the deadline for Automatic Academic Scholarships and Selective Scholarships. You would not have received an SSA if you didn’t apply by Nov 1. The SSA has nothing to do with HPS. HPS is not part of the SSA. For your SSA, you applied by the deadline listed for you: Dec 15th. Again, this has nothing to do with HPS. Therefore, you are okay  Good luck!

Has anyone heard from Hutton?

My Son received this scholarship. Act-33 , 4.2 gpa, top 5%of class. But it was not all about the academics. good luck!

Congrats! when did he receive letter?
