i copied and pasted some info i put in my old Q

hi everyone
im a junior and a few days ago i got a huge reality slap when i found out that my unweighted gpa was a 3.14...
i guess my weighted gpa will look better but i know that colleges dont look at that first
as a junior im taking
AP stat
AP english
honors physics
honors US cultures
honors spanish 3
next year im planning to take
AP econ
AP lit
calc AB
spanish 4 honors
AP bio

my SAT score is 2050 and i retook it again and im sorta sure i got higher by at least a 100 more points or more..maybe

i took a SAT subject test for bio and got a 690 (i might not send that) i plan to take Math Level 1 and some other science sat 2. im hoping to get over 700 on those

for my ECs i dont have much at the moment but im gonna change that over the rest of junior year...i volunteered a lot and im on the track team, which is basically it ): i might do some rigorous summer academic program over the summer to look better

with all this info..what are my chances of getting into schools like U of D or villanova, or temple? do you know any other schools that would want me?
and since im also a canadian citizen (im from the US) i want to apply for University of Toronto and some others. what are my chances there? better or worse? i heard that they are more forgiving to US students. im not sure

thank you for taking the time to read this!

sigh…bump

no idea about canadian schools or the majority on your list-- but i think you’re okay for uconn. and maybe bu, but that gpa is holding you back.

also (just for the record)-- your username is grammatically incorrect (not to be a *****); i wish i were a nerd.

haha oh thats embarrassing.

bumppp

bumpp bump bump, can anyone please offer more advice/opinions?

I’d say good on Barry. I’m a GA person, been hearing about that school all my life.
I’d say work on EC’s and GPA. Your SAT’s fine for your schools, so don’t stress about that. But a low 3, few ECs, and no awards isn’t the best rep in the world. Try to find a club that goes to competitions, so you have a shot at getting awards. They make you look motivated. Try to get some leadership too.
Honestly, I’m being harsh. If you fix all that, you’d be a shot at the TOP schools, so just pick a few and fix them, and you should be fine. :)

thank youuu! bump!

Mcgill has certain admissions standards you have to meet before they even consider you.
For some faculties its a B+ average through grades 10, 11 and 12; while some faculties require an A-. There is also specific SAT I and II scores you have to get. ECs mean nothing .
As far as i’m concerned, for us schools, a B+ gpa is 3.3 and A- 3.7
Going by that, you do not meet the admission standards.

Similar type of system for U of T, Waterloo.
What’s your intended major?

As for US schools:
Rank needs to be high for penn, i’m assuming yours is low.
Your ECs are weak, SAT good but not jaw dropping, so really, there’s nothing “going for you”. With the holistic approach many universities have You could change that; find a way to make yourself stand out.
