You do have to commit to another college, but all you'll lose is the housing deposit if you go to a place you're waitlisted at.

Can you agree to be placed on the waitlist and then deny the offer if it's offered to you?

Yup. I think they usually call and tell you that you have x days to decide.

Another question for you, Thomas! ^_^ hehe.

Does this mean there's a chance that we [transfer applicants] will hear before May 14?

flipflop...Yes, Brown wants to have EVERYONE (regular, transfer, international, etc.) selected and notified by the middle of April. :)

Really? So I could hear sooner than March 31st?

.......

dies

It really depends on what order they go in. They usually go with the regualr admissions first, then move to the RUE program applicants (adult undergraduates), then they will go to either the international applicants or transfer applicants. I'm not sure which order they will work in this year.
They will then choose the January-entrance applicants. After all of that is complete, they will go to the deferred/waitlist group. Last year, Brown selected 183 applicants from the waitlist. That's the highest out of any Ivy/Top-tiered University.

It seems that Brown has extended its xfer application deadline to April 1st.
I wonder what the heck that means!?!

"The application deadline for both Semester I (September) and Semester II (January) is April 1, 2005."

Buuump.

Thomas, have you any updates? pleading look
