Here is my concern with UCSD

Okay, I got accepted to UCSD as math econ major.

TAG,igetc certified prior to spring semester

currently i am taking cal2 which i am getting low C...

I want to drop it and re-take it on this summer at my cc, or UCSD on fall..

Will ucsd rescind my admission?

in a similar situation but with my chem class

but i did not get accepted yet

i can still actually bounce back from my chem class but a good question

I am terrible at math and can tell you that it’s very possible to bounce back if you catch your problem early enough. Just do the math and see what you need to get on your next tests to pull off a satisfactory grade and work towards that.

But realistically, you need to call UCSD. I know it sounds tempting to drop a class now to get rid of a stress factor, but you can pull it off. If you are in the LA area, come to SMC’s or Los Angeles College’s math lab, those guys worked wonders on my grade and I am ass at math. You gotta do what you gotta do bro, UCSD will be a lot harder if you are coming from a CC, it is good to experience that stress and learn to deal with it.

You’re taking Cacl2 as a prereq for your major right? As long as the class isn’t directly related to completing your TAG or IGETC, then taking it during the summer or at UCSD should be fine.

How do uc’s calculate gpa if you went to a uc for your first year and then a ccc for two years right after? I have more units at ccc with a 3.94 gpa and at ucsb I have a 2.94…how would the uc I applied to look at this?

Please help

still worried. bump!

Did you end up dropping the class/notifying them about the drop?

yes i ended up dropping the class and notified them after that…

Then you should wait for them to respond to you…
