I know what restrictive early action and early action are. However, I applied to two rea schools, but I was dumb and I didn’t know that you couldn’t apply EA to other private schools. I did a few. Now I have been rejected from Yale, and I was deferred from Harvard. I was also deferred EA by UChicago, and I’m yet to here from a few of the other EA schools I did. So, in this situation what do I do? Does this mean anything I know I should of research more, but ahh idk I just need some advice. I still have a couple regular decision schools I need to apply to. But I’m just a bit lost right now could this effect me?
Do you have a guidance counselor? I would speak to him or her.
Focus on the RD schools. Even if you get into Harvard, they will likely catch up to you and rescind the acceptance so you should just withdraw your Harvard app. I don’t believe UChic EA is restrictive so you have not violated their terms.
Nor can you apply to 2 REA schools. How did your GC not catch this?
Regardless, at this point, focus on any remaining RD apps.
Withdraw your Harvard app, since any offer will be rescinded.
I’m surprised people think the Harvard offer will be rescinded. as far as I know they only crossreference acceptances so how will they ever find out about the other REA app? If you’d gotten into both, or even deferred at both, I’d be very worried for you.
we’re currently on break right now, but I’ll compose an email soon
no, yeah thats what I’m confused about like I get its on my part that I should of checked the rea policies more closely. But at this point I got rejected from one of them, and I’m now in the regular pool for harvard so im not sure.
I’m not sure honestly, our school didn’t really go into specifics, the only things they made priority was to apply to college, and request a transcript lol
