I will probably post another thread when graduation time nears, but I can't stop thinking about my valedictorian speech... and I want to be named already! We just got our grades back and I totally beat out my rival from kindergarten! So here's the deal:

Last year's speech was awesome because the vali was a stoner and he made a sweet speech that ****ed off all the superintendent, principal, teachers, security guards, etc. while the students loved it... so I feel this year they will really crack down on what I say. I don't want it to be one of those sappy speeches where everyone cries and I don't want it to be a total snorefest... so what would you guys write? It's also cool I'm not one of those nerdy smart kids who fit perfectly into the stereotype.. and I want my speech to be the same way.

Help.

(I totally was on the wrong account concerning that similar post. whoops)

Haha...good luck with that speech. I'm kinda glad I don't have to worry about making one [our vali's too far ahead, even though it's junior year] but I'm looking forward to hearing her speak. As long as you don't say 'high school was the best time of my life; I will always remember it etc.' you should be fine.

made by MIT grad students! since the code's available i'm sure it can be modified to write val speeches. no one will cry; no one will snore; everyone will laugh. (when i tried to read a "randomly-generated" paper on the web site i started to feel like i was reading one of the actual scientific papers i read in doing my research - it's scary.)

Seriously, though. You have a fair amount of time. Write something, re-write it, then covertly try a few of your sentences on your friends and see what happens. It's the scientific method, and it's always worked for me. (I haven't given any val speeches - although I might be doing that in a few months - but I have some speaking experience.)

sure, post it here when it's done.
You should try to talk about hs more than college. Don't talk about all that transition from HS to college stuff. That's boring!
Talk about inspiration and all that crap. Thank teachers and show some gratitude.
And make it funny. Add some humor to it.
