Here we go with the schedule threads again

Hey, I'm going to be a freshman at Cal this fall. As excited as I am, class selections are stressing me out. Please let me know your opinions on my current schedule:

Poli Sci 2-- Intro to Comparative (Might do poli sci 5 instead-- which one would be better?)
Env Sci 10-- Intro to Environmental Science
Music 26ac-- Intro to Western music

I need one more course-- any suggestions? I definitely want to cover some of my breadth requirements if that helps.

English R1A/B if you didn’t get a 5 in AP Lit.
I know this is a huge requirement for L&S., but maybe not for your college. Which one are you going to?

opendoorss - you are knocking off two of the requirements - the Music26AC class will cover both an Arts & Literature breadth AND the American Cultures requirement. You will have 6 breadth plus R&C left to spread over 7 more semesters, no rush. You could take something of personal interest or a DeCal and not lose any ground.

Intended / possible majors?

Check the prerequisite chains for those majors. If any require long prerequisite chains (science, engineering, environmental design), you may want to start early on them. Also, if any require a lot of time consuming lab courses (science, engineering, environmental design, art practice, music), you may want to start early so that you do not have to take many labs together.

I have my English R1A/B credits from IB credits. Possible majors: I’m hoping to double in poli sci and environmental science. I’mnot to sure what I want to take. I kind of want to somehow “take it easy” but not slack my first semester. Any suggestions? Btw, thanks for your guys’ responses.

For the Environmental Science major, there are lower division science courses required; these tend to have prerequisites on each other, so you may want to consider taking Chemistry 1A and/or Math 1A:
