here's another chance thread!

...because I know everyone loves these! But seriously, I've been wicked nervous lately about getting into this fabulous university so any opinions would be HUGELY appreciated.

Applied to CNS - first choice Math, then Physics

In-state, white qurl~
Rank: 10.7% (53/493)
GPA: transcript said 3.8. weighted? unweighted? who knows.
SAT: 2070 (780 M, 610 CR, 680 W)

Junior Year: AP Calc BC (5 & AB subscore of 5), AP Art History (5)
Senior Year: AP Physics C, AP Stats, AP Psych

Freshman year I had to transfer at the semester due to personal/health reasons so I believe that's why my rank & GPA are a little shoddy. Then I moved across the country for sophomore year and since then I've had a clear upward trend in overall performance.

ECs:
- 3 yrs of debate & interp (public forum team co-captain with my partner for 2 yrs now)
- 2 yrs of GSA, Key Club, UIL academic math & science teams, lacrosse (outside of school)
- Freshman year: photography club (secretary), math club (historian), track
- I've been a member of PSi since I moved to TX and I usually attend weekly poetry slams downtown. I've entered a few times and advanced though those aren't really "official" awards. I also started a slam poetry club at my school so I'm president of that. Besides debate, poetry is what I'm most passionate about in terms of extracurriculars and I think I make that pretty clear throughout my app. so I hope it gives me a bit of an edge...
- 100+ volunteer hours at food bank/art museum/animal shelter
- worked as a part-time nanny (full-time during the summer) for a few different families
- math & science tutor since 8th grade
- summer internship at a blueberry farm in Maine; I assisted with marketing n stuff

National Merit Semifinalist

Really stellar rec from English/Art History teacher (I cried reading it..... :| )

aaaaaand das it! The thing is that writing and I don't get along too well. The essay I wrote for topic B was great and super feminist-y but A... well it wasn't Shakespeare.

Let me know what y'all think! And thanks in advance :3

I’d say that more likely than not you’re in, assuming that you haven’t over-exaggerated here.

I would also that you are in.

Thank you both so much! That kind of eases my mind a bit.

@frever - does it sound like I’ve over-exaggerated? I’m actually kind of concerned that I didn’t do enough to “sell myself” on my application, especially because my ECs are somewhat scattered (all thanks to switching schools :expressionless: )
