That was a great story @twoinanddone - I just watched some of her videos, they made me teary

OMG that was me in my 9th grade basketball tryout!! I made the team anyway, I was about 5’11 when I was 14.

I heard she got a 35 on her ACT so that helps. (don’t know if that’s in the article didn’t feel like reading it)

Nice story! Just read an article that said, at the time the article was written, that she had a 4.0 GPA. Both her parents are doctors. She seems super nice and thoughtful and oh my goodness, what a basketball player!

It’s great to read about athletes who generate such excitement even among people who’ve been around sports their whole lives. May she have a great time at Stanford and avoid the Stanford band, says this Cardinal-averse Cal grad and fan

I better tell my kid to go watch her play sometime.

She’s surely smart. She was just playing basketball at this school and they talked her into attending the school, taught her basketball, and now she’s going to Stanford. And she’s received a good Jesuit high school education and now will get a good college one too.

I thought she was a tennis player before? In any case, definitely has the academic chops to get into Stanford without b-ball but we know how many kids with her stats don’t.

She’s really fun to watch

Good to hear she has top academics as well- she deserves a great education and is lucky to have the athleticism to garner the scholarship. Too bad the article paid no attention to her academic talent- she needs it to succeed.

Dunking Doc.
