Heritage Courses

How difficult are the heritage courses that are offered? How different is the regular course ("___ for ___ speakers") vs. the advanced course ("___ for ADVANCED ___ speakers")?

wth is a heritage course? you mean language?

yea, basically language courses, although, from what i read, there are “heritage courses” that are inversions of ordinary language courses for languages like arabic, tagalog, and persian

Heritage courses expect you to already know at least the basics of a language. A language course, on the other hand, starts from the near beginning. The pro of taking a heritage course is that you only need to take it once to satisfy a language requirement. Whereas for language courses, you have to pass 4 quarters.

how difficult is the advanced heritage course in comparison to the regular heritage course?

Advanced heritage is more rigorous and expects you to have knowledge of basic conversation skills and grammar. Regular heritage concentrates on conversation and grammar.

do you know or have the contact info of someone who would know about the difficulty of the heritage course for persian language?

google this: “ucsd heritage program persian”

sunnyday9630, your questions are getting easier and easier to answer. i’m hoping this will encourage you to look beyond CC as well – not because we’re annoyed with answering your questions, but because you’re coming to college and should experiment with independent work :)
