This may have been mentioned before, but I may have missed it.

the scholarship deadline is now Dec 15th. That’s good because with Thanksgiving and everything, sometimes people were missing that Dec 1 deadline.

The deadline for current students remains Dec 1, however: [Currently Enrolled Students - Undergraduate Scholarships - The University of Alabama](Current – Scholarships | The University of Alabama)

I do like the new deadline for incoming students. I wish it were Dec 31 or Jan 1 because many ED kids learn around mid-to-late Dec that they have unaffordable EFCs, but then it’s too late for them to apply to Bama for big merit…unless they’re a NMF.

For current students, new this year is an option where you upload your supporting documents right in the application (not send things separately in the mail). This is a huge improvement. I have been told that these returning student scholarships are usually limited to those who are not receiving the larger tuition merit scholarships, or who have demonstrated financial aid (per FAFSA)…but you never know until you apply. Like the lottery, you gotta buy a ticket to be in it to win it.
