Basically I am very good academically but that doesnt apply for EC's. What do You think of my chances??
thanks for your help!

I think your test scores are outstanding. Since your focus is math and sciences, you should show your love/passion for this subject in your app.

kal007 shouldn’t say anything without more info about you. I definitely can tell that you have a chance, but your application will be more based on your essay, since your scores are definitely up there (like most Harvard students), but not your extracurriculars / awards.

I say you got a pretty good chance. I only advise working hard on your essays and you should be fine :)

I think I need to withhold judgement until I know more about your other stats. But although your scores are good, and I don’t want to discourage you, unless you are absolutely fantastically genius at one of your science/math areas, you really need to boost your application to another level before being able to fight with the other ivy contenders.

Would it be wise if I write about my love for books and how it was the only option for me gain knowledge, in the extra curricular essay section??? Though i can write about rifle shooting, but I think the books describe the “real me” properly. And also yup im a genius at physics (atleast dats wat my professors say) nd I’ve read almost a hundred books on physics like Resnick Halliday Krane, HC Verma , IE irodov, SS Krotov , John Taylor, University Physics and many more, and I’ve taken University level courses of physics independently from an IIT alumni to satisfy my curiosity. If I write about books I’ll be definitely able to mention these things but if I write about rifle shooting, I dont think I’ll be able convey the above to the admission office. Pls help

if you are as good as you say you are in physics, you have to show it. Take the physics olympiad. People who make the national team get a lot of attention by adcoms. Doing well on it this January is most likely the best thing you can do. If you are a senior, it might be too late, but still try.
