I live in South Florida, in a suburb of Fort Lauderdale
I go to one of the biggest high schools in the country, and it is the best high school in all of South Florida according to many people.

My GPA:
Unweighted: 3.5
Weighted: 4.52
Core: 3.84
Class Ranking: 168 out of 949.
PSAT Sophomore Year: 173
Math: 65
Verbal: 55
Writing: 53

I am unhappy with my class ranking. The fact that I took a couple of regular classes messed me up with this.

I am really good at math, but my verbal and writing scores weren't that high because I wasn't prepared and ran out of time at the beginning.

My top college choices are UM, UF, FSU, Georgetown and Nova Southeastern

I wanted to study either medicine or law, but I realized that medicine isn't for me since science isn't my thing. So now I want to study law

So what do you guys think?

I will post my next PSAT score and SAT scores when I take them soon

Yeah, my school is huge. Was even bigger 3 years ago but they changed the boundaries. And its incredibly competitive. Everybody takes tons of AP’s.
We even had an MTV Show, the Paper

I thought my school was massive with 500 students in my graduating class. That must be sort of weird to have a campus population of 4000 students.

You seem to be doing well in school up to this point. Your GPA is high (Which, though it depends on how your school weights honors classes, is still pretty good) and your PSAT will go up remarkably the second time around. All I can suggest is to keep taking rigorous classes, strive for straight As, and most important of all do your best on the PSAT. Your score should go up the second time you take it, but it’s worth your time to study and get 200+ on it. If you get up to National Merit Scholar Finalist level (which is a near perfect score on the test. Doable, but still very tough), you are bound to have a fantastic scholarship avalable.

Hi. I didnt know where ft. lauderdale was and i just looked on google. Your really close to miami. Thats cool. I wish my grades were as good as yours. I think being 100 out of 1000 is really good for a rank. If you only had 100 people in your class, that would be like being #10, which is awesome!

Its fun hanging out here, but i learned some stuff like there are some mean parents here, so dont write anything in the parents forum and until you have like 200 or more posts, be careful of what you say cause people will think you are a ■■■■■. And im looking for friends for my friends list, so if you want to be my friend thats cool.

it must be awesome to go to such a big school… So many people to meet an make friends and stuff!!
I go to a very small private school and my class is made of 30 people…

Welcome to CC! Your class size is terrifying. I’m seriously sick of all the people in my school and the entire student body is only two hundred students more than your entire class. With your GPA, you could easily get into all of the schools on your list except Georgetown. If you really like that school, improve on your (P)SATs and try some APs.

Haha. Its not too bad. At least you can find SOMEBODY you can fit in with. But there’s so many individual clicks of the same people, that its incredible. Also, 50% of my school is upper class Hispanics, so its very culturally diverse.

I will improve my PSAT and SAT since when I took it, it was sophomore year. Now I will take it in 2 weeks having studied a little bit, so it will improve. My GPA will also improve with all the AP’s Im taking.

I took 2 sophomore year, and taking 3 this year. My school only allows you to take 4 classes/year if they’re AP’s, so its though. We have block scheduling.

Getting into Georgetown isn’t that big of a deal for me since Im probably not going to be able to go that far away from home, but its a good option to have. And I have tons of family in DC. Hopefully I can improve my scores though
