Hi everyone!!! Im Pablo and I’m a freshman MT at Chicago College Of Performing Arts here at Roosevelt University! It is an absolutely AMAZING conservatory program! Please please please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions about auditions or anything else about the program! I would be more than happy to answer any questions :)

Hi there.
Do they have a MT class yet for 2015?

Question-any advice on a transfer sophomore for dorms?

Basically, there are three dorms (the University Center, Roosevelt on Washington/Fornelli Hall, and 2 East 8th). As a sophomore, my bet would be that most people in your class will be living in Roosevelt on Washington and some will be living in the University Center. The University Center is closer (literally a block away) has traditional dorm rooms and apartments and has 24 hour practice rooms and a 24 hour gym. Roosevelt on Washington is only apartment style and is 5 blocks north and is smack dab in the middle of the loop. I lived at the University Center freshman year. This year, I live at Roosevelt on Washington, but if I could do it over again, I would have probably opted to stay at the University Center because it’s newer, closer to school, and has practice rooms (which you’ll need Sophomore year!). I don’t know if that helps any. If you have specific questions, you can definitely call the office of Residence life and they should be able to help you.

Is Roosevelt a degree program?

Yes, we are a conservatory degree program. We graduate with a BFA in Musical Theatre.

Thanks for the update on the dorms. Our son is transferring in as a Sophomore MT major in the fall. We will take a look in a couple of weeks-but your comments ate very helpful. He has a friend in 2 East 8th. But isn’t that just used if the other dorms are full? Any other advice is welcome!!!

oops-ARE very helpful!!! Can’t type today :)

2 East 8th was used as overflow housing this year. I’m not sure what’s happening with it next year, though I have heard there will be more people living there next year. I’m not sure on this, as I’m living off campus next year and not really up to date on the Residence Life happenings. You could definitely give Residence Life a call and I’m sure they’ll set you straight.
