We went to USNA this afternoon to see the Glee Club's performance of Guys and Dolls, it was great. What else was fun was wandering around the Yard and imagining all the families there for CW. I love that our house is right outside Gate 1...just park the car and go.

Hey all (M2L, et al). Our s is doing well all around. Decided to take ground school this semester along with everything else. Still running track, so anticipates he'll have 0 Block (asked for PAC SUB to Guam/Japan...we'll see...) and will probably miss Herndon, etc. Definitely (ha!...like anything is truly definite...) has Block 1 NASS cadre. Should be interesting... So, if this schedule works out, he's on leave from June 20 into first of August. Thinks he'll come home for that duration. Coming home for spring break/leave. We're heading to Boston for indoor track meet on the 8th/9th. Still loves it all (well, except those Alpha inspections and yelling rates. Is glad he's nearing being a Youngster! Tempus fugit!!)... (now...to vacate his room so he can use it while he's home!! lol!!) Glad all are doing well.

I haven't posted on here a lot, but I first found cc when S1 was a sr. in h.s. 3 years ago. At that time he had a nomination to the AFA and an offer of an ROTC scholarship to Texas A&M. He really struggled with which he wanted more. Ultimately, he decided to go to A&M. After that, he found out that he did not receive an appointment. I was so grateful that he had made the decision on his own terms and had not felt forced into it.

He has been deliriously happy at A&M. He just found out he will be wing commander in the Corps of Cadets next year and just today he found out that he has been selected for pilot training! Yay! This is such a dream come true for him.

timely - congrats to your son! It is great to hear he is happy with his decision and things are working out for him. It goes to show that you can reach your goals through ROTC too!

timely,

Thanks for the update and the great news!
