Hey New Hoos - Bust & Others

Yay New Hoos! I'm so excited for all of you!

I transferred to UVA so I never had the first year experience, but one of the most helpful things I found out at the transfer orientation was about the class listings: UVa Class Schedule for Fall 2011 (Unofficial. Lou's List)

by googling "Lou's List" - SO much easier than plowing through SIS to look up classes. Plus, there's so published hard copy of the course listings so you'll need to turn to the computer in some fashion to start browsing.

Now that you all (hopefully, I think) have UVA email addresses you can sign up for the UVA Course Forum
[url=<a href="http://thecourseforum.com/%5DtheCourseForum%5B/url">http://thecourseforum.com/]theCourseForum[/url</a>]</p>

There, you can start learning handy things about reading loads, assignments, which TA's are awesome, etc. Fun!

Congratulations everybody - you'll have the time of your lives here:)

Wow, those links will probably be extremely useful. Thanks a lot!

We have UVA email addresses now?

Do you mind sharing about your transfer experience?

You do not have official UVa email until after you go there for summer orientation and sign up for classes. One of the last things you receive when you leave orientation is how to set up your ‘official’ email and generate your own password. The log in info you have which should include your initials and a number and two random consonants is your email ie: jqs7tu@virginia.edu will be what is looks like.

You cannot sign up for the course forum until after you get your official email. So rely on Rate My Professor for now.

As far as Lou’s list, excellent resource. There are only so many openings per orientation session for each class so do not go by Lou’s list for availability. Each session has an allotment of slots and when that number fills up then the course is closed for that summer orientation session. Be sure to have plenty of back ups, especially if you end up with a time slot later in the day for registration time at orientation.

If you are enrolling, the Summer Orientation site has a list of things you can do after submitting your deposit:
