if we all go to stanford, we'll have to switch our networks to AT&T because verizon users get absolutely no service at stanford AHH

so im thinking about investing in an iphone

hahaha I know, but thankfully, my 2-year contract will be up by then ;)

Yesterday my friend asked me: where do you want to go school?
I said Stanford
Then she said you will be a tree

haha it was really funny to me at the moment. (The Mascot Unofficially is a tree)

the mascot is unofficially a tree because Stanford is situated in Palo Alto, which means One Tree in Spanish.

i thought palo alto meant big stick…
haha, that could be taken so many ways. i’ll stop here. :)

I thought it meant tall stick, but I suck at Spanish.

Yeah, it means tall stick in Spanish. Palo Alto was probably named that because of all of the big trees or “sticks” in the surrounding area.

Verizon service is fine all over the Stanford campus and surrounding area.
You can visit the actual “tall tree” that Palo Alto is named after, just a few blocks from the Stanford mall.

well I guess my joke wasn’t funny. it wasn’t supposed to be a debate about the origin of the word instead imagine saying to someone: Hey I am a tree! (or cardinal)

I know only stanford from the movies

Palo Alto is named after one specific tree

god i want to be a tree

think of all the good we’d be doing for society if we were trees!

and whoever said verizon has service at stanford probably has a very special phone because mine and none of my friends’ phones worked there
