i've run into a bit of a strange situation:

after submitting my completed app, my status page said "complete" for about a week and then changed to "incomplete".

the message i' receiving is that my application is complete except for a transcript showing completed required coursework.
the transcript i've submitted has 32 hours (about 60/40 in residence vs. claimed AP credit), so i thought this was a bit odd.

I called admissions and they said that I had completed everything necessary on my part, save for the final transcript to be sent when the semester concludes. In addition, they said that, because decisions were made based on "competitive" GPA including all coursework, that i would not be eligible for a decision UNTIL the final transcript was submitted and my final GPA could be assessed - despite the fact that I meet admissions requirements presently.

by that logic, anyone currently enrolled anywhere would be ineligible until their semester ends, which doesn't make much sense. unless people just don't get their transfer decisions until late may/june and it's something i'm completely unaware of?

does anyone have any information/experience with the transfer process that might shed some light on my situation?

I resolved this situation by contacting my admissions counselor (the one assigned to you specifically on the mystatus application - not general admissions).

My first call to general admissions left me in the situation stated above. My second call, however, to my admissions counselor cleared things up.

It happened that the electronic transcript sent from my university to UT did not include credit I had claimed for AP courses (for some reason, i don’t know why). Without that credit I did not meet the 30 hour requirement , so my status was listed as “incomplete”. I requested a paper transcript (which i was able to examine before sending it - UT does not require that official transcripts be sealed) which DID show all of my credit and delivered that to UT.

Log in to utdirect.utexas.edu and click on the “Be A Longhorn” link at the top. Somewhere on that page there should be a “UT Connections” section with a subheader that says “meet your admissions counselor” with his/her name and contact information.

I spoke to my regional admissions counselor. She told me to submit my transcript as soon as possible. After explaining that the delay in the updated transcript was due to several errors on my school’s part, she had no answer as to whether or not it would be considered late. I sent my updated transcript and it arrived on March 30th. As of yesterday, my admissions status reads that my application is complete and on time, despite the updated transcript arriving well after the deadline. I hope I am considered in the first wave of applicants and I receive my decision around mid-April. What does everyone think? Will I have to wait until I submit my spring grades for a decision? I am applying for math and physics.
