I have been confused these days. Does anyone knows which school is better for students who want to go to major in accounting in undergraduate? Washington university or Indiana University Bloomington? Which school students are better? how's the students there? are they nice? and Which school's dorms have better quality? How is the weather there? is that too hot in summer? or always get wet? and are the professors good at teaching?

Indiana has a significantly better B school than UW. More national recruitment and more of a campus college town feel. Udub is more urban although campus is nice.

Depends on where said poster wants to work. Indiana U isn’t even the best school in it’s state. In order to get to a school comparable to UW you have to head east to Minnesota, or south to Berkeley. That’s a huge swath of the USA.

Also, 8th best and 10th best in Accounting is not significantly better.

OP, besides looking at rankings, also see if you can get information on opportunities alum get, what schools come to career fairs, etc. If any student(s) at either school can give you a run down of how the program is run and stuff like that, it would be valuable information to factor into your decision.

Business Week has IU about 18 and Udub 41 for business undergrad. You can see lots of stuff here. UW does not even have a biz only placement office although one is supposed to be coming. Better late than never I guess.

I don’t think this person is American. Would the business placement office benefit them as much?

Also, I don’t know how you could compare the dormitories, but I know that the weather is much more extreme in Indiana compared to Seattle, which is more temperate. There will be more days of rain in Seattle, but the rain will be light. What is more tolerable for you, a light mist of rain for months on end or a bitter cold in the winter and a hotter summer?

BaoBaoChenAmber if I were you, I would choose what is suitable for my personal needs. Both schools are quite good and have relatively high ranking in Accounting.
If I were you, I would go to ratemyprofessors.com, find the needed universities and look up feedbacks for the profs in the accounting department. Also there you can look up some feedbacks about campuses.
I understand that you are from Hong Kong (this is what is in your profile)? I don’t know if you know it, but Seattle has a big Asian community, so you might feel more “home” here :)
