hey..whos heard so far.....

I sent my app in on 11/29 and they reached the decsion on 12/9, i got the letter on 12/14

Yay! I got in today, they made the decision on the 8th.

lemar..congrats - when did you submit your app? I submitted mine late november and on psu.edu it still says its being reviewed...I'm from NY as well, but not great stats. When should I expect to hear?

they made a decision on me on the 7th and I still have no packet or anything. How long can it take to get it to me? I live in massachusetts, not all that far.

Woo Hoo, I just got in today. 1280 SAT, 3.6 GPA... Out of state. Still trying to figure out a way to get some money though

congrats Deacon looks like a good group this year :D
You should be able to find money somehow

Good Group indeed. lol.

i got rejected, out of state, with a 1310...kinda shocked but watever

guapocarlos - bet those SAT's get you into college park - they weight the opposite of PSU - most of the emphasis is on the SAT's - much less on GPA. but the waiting could kill us both!

when i was accepted i was like woot woot. ok now, to those who got accepted, ne1 know of the dorms??

guapocarlos...what was your UW GPA? UW GPA is 2/3 for main campus...so that could've cost you..anyhow sorry to hear :(

UW or W doesnt matter, its whatever GPA your school sends out. If they send both, the adcom said it was weighed.

sent in 11/8 accepted 11/28
University Park
OOS
4.04 weighted
1280 SAT
why is there absolutely no consistence with the admissions @ PSU? I applied on a whim and heard back in almost no time. I have friends who applied about a month before I did and they still havent heard back. And my stats aren't exactly amazing. Can anyone explain why something like this would happen?

I have 3.6 UW 1240 (composite) 1190 (1 sitting)...applied late november..haven't heard yet...any idea when I will?

GGT - ya im hoping they do, last year kids with similar SAT and lower GPA got into college park and thats my number 2 choice so I look foward to hearing from them. Guess it hurts to go to a highly competative school. My GPA weighted is around 3.5 - 3.6, unweighted only 3.1-3.2, I also have all A's and 1 B so far my senior year. It had to be my GPA that killed me.

Guapocarlos - Well I guess I know where I stand then - I was 3.4 unweighted and 3.6 weighted - and my SAT's are lower than yours - they are still reviewing my app - but I'd better not be too optimistic.

Kath - since PSU weights GPA by 75% and SAT's and other factors by 25% - your 4.0+ boosted you to the front of the line. My buddy who just got accepted the other day finished his online application November 30th and his SAT's were 60 points lower than mine - so even though he applied a month later and has lower SAT's - his GPA got him admitted quickly while I'm still grinding my teeth at night sweating it out.
