My coach has written me very nice recommendations for various jobs, so this one should be good. Also, he may be able to help me get the attention of the coaches at the schools I am looking at, and I could possibly have a bit of help from that.

Another rec will probably be written by my Economics teacher and NHS advisor. I am president of NHS and had a 100 average in Econ, so this one should be good too.

Also, I may be able to get one from my OM coach and eigth grade science teacher empasizing my leadership role on the OM team.

Schools looking at:
Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Dartmouth

Georgetown
Williams
Duke
Johns Hopkins
BC
Tufts
Colgate
SUNY Geneseo

Thanks a lot!

You're in everywhere

relatively average chances for top ivies like harvard, princeton, and yale though...safe for cornell with the legacy..and the rest, i think you have a pretty good shot

and sorry, as a canadian, i find the "chancer moi" in the middle of an english really really irritating...

like it's great to apply foreign languages...but only when you can use it correctly.

god i feel like such a ***** for saying that and i apologize but it's a pet peeve. haha

Your AI is 232, meaning you have a great shot everywhere, even the HYPSDC schools (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Dartmouth, Columbia)

The main thing that gives you a shot at the Ivies is the 98% (A+ average) and the 800 in the SAT IIs coupled with good ECs and lots of AP courses.

bring up my post

Will you be applying for financial aid? Can you apply early decision?

I'll be applying for financial aid, and I can't apply early decision. I may apply to a few schools early action though.

Most of the EA schools on your list are SCEA (single choice early action), meaning you can't apply to multiple early action schools. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Nash

I am sorry that I am not familiar with track stats - I can't correctly evaluate how competitive they are. However - assuming they are competitive - that may give you a boost at schools that have many places to fill for athletics. Williams and maybe Dartmouth come to mind. If you are interested in running, I believe that you need to start chatting up the coachs in the near future.

Your list is top-heavy (not because of you, because of the schools very low acceptance rate), but as long as you keep Colgate and SUNY Geneseo on it that's fine. If you will be looking to compare finaid/merit aid packages, you should have a fairly long list - if (and this is a big if) you can be disciplined enough to full justice to every application you complete.

Please remember that even for the best candidates, schools such as Harvard and Princeton are brutally competitive - they are both well under 10% for RD applicants. You have work hard and are a worthy candidate, but that doesn't mean you will be accepted.
