Hey You: Chance me

Ok so I'm applying to FSU, FAMU, Stetson, UF, UCF, and possibly some more schools in Florida. Top 2 are FAMU and FSU. I'm applying to FSU, FAMU and Stetson this fall in fact I've already applied halfway (just need to finish the essays) to FSU and FAMU. I submitted everything for Stetson. But I graduate high school in May 2014 with an AA degree from a state college at the same time. My GPA as of right now is 3.5 (uw) and 4.37 (w).

Took the SAT and ACT during the summer got a 1410 first try and 19.. (Signed up to retake SAT in November)

Major: Pre-Med
Probably over 200 hours of community service

Extracurriculars/Awards: NHS, NSHSS, PTK, heavy church involvement, did yearbook in 9th grade, community service (several different places).

Striving for All A's this semester and next

I do art, I write, I do hair, I cook, I rescue animals, and I've had several honors of having my work displayed in my school and my writing being highly praised by all of my teachers and professors.

I want to start in Summer 2014 to get a head start.

And I'm sure all my letters of recommendations are extraordinarily written.

So what do you think or suggest on getting into these schools? (FAMU and FSU)

UF: Reach
FSU: Reach (but lower than UF)
Stetson: Match
FAMU: Low match
UCF: Reach

Does my class rank change anything? 30/80 (we’re a small school)

A couple of things about premed.

First, it’s not a major, but rather a set of coursework that is necessary to complete when applying to med school. You can major in anything and apply to med school as long as you’ve taken the required courses.

Second, You should know that for med school, every college class you’ve taken (in HS and in college) counts in the calculation of your gpa. If you retake a course, the new grade will be added to the gpa calculation, but will not replace an earlier grade. DO schools are more lenient and practice grade replacement.

Thanks, but I already knew that. And the automatic major for pre-med is biological science for FSU.
