does anyone know how hard it is to get into Gallatin?

I am not an expert, but I am applying to Gallatin (as a transfer student though). The admit rate for Gallatin is the same as the rest of the University. However, Gallatin looks for certain things in their applicants. They look for evidence of true independence and serious motivation and self - determination because it takes alot of responsibility to create your own major. They want evidence that you'll take advantage of what they have to offer you.

It's kind of like the way Tisch evaluates it's applicants - you still have to be competitive academically, but you have to have all that other nice stuff on top of it.

Remember that Gallatin has the smallest applicant pool, so you'll really have a chance to shine, but that could also be your downfall if you don't take the opportunity to show them why you should be admitted. Small applicant pool, at least to me = a class that is truly handpicked.

Bottom line, it's probably as hard to get into as CAS or Tisch academically, but they want a different type of applicant.
