Hi I'm a computer science major. I want to go to UCLA/USC. I am in a cc now.

I came to the US from Israel, I was in the Israeli army for two years. I have excellent high school grades. My mother is from south america (am I considered hispanic? a minority?)

I finished my first semester with a 4.0, easy classes though. Almost no EC. I volunteer in the community.

What should I do in the following semester / year in order to improve my chances to get in to USC/UCLA? how difficult is it?

Thanks

I don't know much about transferring from cc to a major university, but you should probably start taking a tougher curriculum (if you can) and build up an EC list of 1-3 things you spend alot of time on (rather than a laundry list of things you spend an hour a month on)

What can be EC in a community college? Student Body? does part time work count? I'm not applying to IV league.

yes, work absolutely counts. EC doesn't have to be school-organized, it can be anything "extra" of "curriculum".

will it help me to say I'm hispanic? How much do they look at that?
