hi again. Chance of ed columbia, Brown, nyu, bc, harvard, upenn, johns Hopkins

are u tellig me to remove some ec’s even though i did them? Also, my passions are really widespread. just because i have many things doesn’t mean i care for each one less. it’s unfortunate that so many people see it that way. I love science research, playing violin, and playing volleyball. However, i guess i have a preference for the science courses in my school. I’m not really sure how to focus my passion

bump sorry

NEVER mention that in your essay: “I’m not really sure how to focus my passion”…

You do come across as too spread out; it’s always good to be all-rounded, but you need to show that you have both breadth and depth. Currently you’re a bit lacking in depth, which is crucial.

very low chance into all of those schools

also impressionistic, colleges do not take AP scores into consideration for admissions

i have 2 questions for u guys…1. if you have like a TON of ECs but you have meaningful positions or impacts in all these activities…is that ok or does it not show focus and passion? Also 2. if you already have tons of ECs with depth in those but you also have a couple that you just participated in and didnt do anything special in, should you not mention those bc u have enough ECs with depth?

apparently, i shouldn’t show too many? but i feel like that’s a dumb thing to do. Darn low chance arghh

eff u jimmy2014 u say that to everyone

same so whats the answers to these questions?

i have no idea! idk what to do man. It’s crazy how having too much can detract from your overall appearance as a person who has depth. I feel like I should mention it all just because in my opinion, it’s silly how a person should have to take something they did away just to look a certain way.

i think i rly only have 1 shallow EC…probly wont include it. i think if we write our essay(s) around one EC it will give a lot more focus

If you were an admissions officer, would you enjoy reading about science research, violin, or sports? those are my main things and idk if i should write about just one or maybe show my passion for all three! idk lol. It seems, however, that my essays are my only chance of even getting close to accepted to those schools

science research, bc its much less common than violin or sports, unless uve done something crazy in the other two. plus, ive done research too so i would b interested in that

if you’re not going to take ratings then why even start a post, for your own self-validation? What a loser.

I will take ratings. I just know that ur a ■■■■■ so I just wanted to point that out. And I guess I do seek self validation in a way but I’m sure lots of other people do too.
