hi again =)

okay, so i know that i just made a post but i didnt want to put the same thing in the same post because people might not answer both questions. There are some things that i want from the college that i plan on attending, i was wondering if case is a match for this.

I want a college that is (really important ones are starred)
*not huge classes (not necessarily a small college)
really centered around math and science, i want to go into medicine
*the classes are not taught by TAs or grad students
good medical school and good chance of getting into the med school
*good chance of getting into the college...duh =)
*theres more to do on the weekends than drink, i dont drink
the people are um, weird? (skip that one if you dont understand it lol)
geeks with style; people who party hard (nonalcoholic) but study harder =)
there is a social life but its not crazzzy
close to a city, but not really in it
*NOT cutthroat, i love to help out people in any way possible
*not too sorrority/frat-y
diverse, but i would like to see some other indians there! at my school i'm one of like three indians, hoping for a change?
*good chance of getting into a medical school after graduation
*nice people that are cool to hang with
not too too cliquey (sp?)

um, i think thats it =)
ps, if you made it to the end of this list, i'm very very proud of you!

if you didn't already know, you'll have big classes as a freshman...pretty much for everyone. most classes are taught by PhDs. getting into medical school at Case is a sketchy thing here, no one really knows the stats. last rumor i heard was that if you had a bio/phys/chem/math gpa higher than a 3.7, then you'd pretty much hvae a 75% or higher chance of getting into the Case SOM. we are right on the border of the ghetto, however, campus is safe (as long as you're not drunk and outside with less than 5 people past 2AM and right offcampus). there are quite a few indians here, Case's med school acceptance rate is 68% overall, 83% if youre BCPM GPA is 3.4 or above.

when you say big classes do you mean like 100-200 people or like 400-500 people?

I think case is a perfect match for you. Big classes meaning 100-200 people, from what I know. Each entering class is between 1000 and 1500.

The overnight visit clinched it for my son. He found the students to be his kind of people--fun loving geeks.

Yes, me too. The overnight awesome did a really good job of dispelling the stereotypes and myths. It's really easy just to say Case is a nerdy engineering school–which is partially true. However, there is EVERY kind of person at Case since it's linked to CIA and CIM. Plus, Cleveland is awesome!!

I would consider myself a geek if my science was indian girls. =D

haha, yep, I'm headed to Case and I'm pumped. It's a good fit for you too.
