I took the highest courses i could possibly take. so far, i have taken 8 ap's.
I also traveled to costa rica every summer for volunteering, and i volunteer at local hospital.
I was in academic decathlon last year, and i won various violin competitions.
This summer, im going to costa rica for medical volunteering (not sure) for two weeks, then stanford university summer camp for a month.

Im planning to apply to almost all ivy's, stanford, ucb, ucla, ucsd, uci, johns hopkins, georgetown, washu, mit etc.
is there any possibility or should i apply to lower schools??

Hi Ashley :)
Well, I think that those top-tier colleges would be reaches for you, so I would suggest applying to UC's, if you are interested in them.
Someone else verify this for me please?

your test scores are bad (toss that korean. language SATs in your native language are meaningless. take chinese for example. 60% of the test takers get 800) and so is your GPA. nice course load though. your ECs are also lackluster.

reject by all ivies except for possibly cornell. reject by stanford, UCB, UCLA, mit. possibly in at jhu, georgetown, and washu. in at the rest

i really think you are aiming too high. have fewer far reaches and more matches/safeties

and who are firefox, some self-proclaimed authority on college acceptance. Were you a dean of admissions somewhere, or even on admissions staff. You act like you know so much but look at the middle SAT scores to some of these schools and you will see she is not out of reach.

What gives you the authority?

how are you an international student, but you live in california?
course load is very impressive but you'd have a small of being accepted to the ivies, stanford and MIT with those test scores and gpa
i think you stand a good chance at wash u and some of the other ones listed

I'll never understand people on CC... Saying things like this makes people feel like crap, just so you know.

Ashley, I think your stats are great. Not phenomenal, like most people on CC, but really good. I don't exactly feel qualified to chance you... But I wouldn't be surprised if you got into most of your schools (I also wouldn't be surprised the other way...since all the top ones are crap shoots.) Apply to wherever you like :D But I also suggest some safeties. Look at state-schools that you would be very happy at. Try finding some lower LAC schools.

Speaking only for Georgetown, because I was accepted this year and am familiar with its admissions requirements/process (I have a good idea of what they look for)... I think you have a good shot... I don't like it when people say 60% shot, what does that mean? For most people it's 100% in or 100% out... borderline applicants are more 50%... because they really are... it all depends whether the admissions committee is feeling nice or not, to put it naively...

"it all depends whether the admissions committee is feeling nice or not"

Nonsense. At selective schools, especially those like Georgetown, competition for admission is so high that no one gets in because the adcom is nice, or is having a nice day. "... there are no random or arbitrary decisions in selective college admissions." -dean at a top LAC

Are you that naive?

I think your test scores are in range but gpa is a little low for top tier and ecs are pretty good but not great. I think ull get into at least some of those reach schools, firefox how can u say someone is a def reject from all those schools, i agree with branderson. Also, those test scores are really good, I think some people lose a sense of whats good or not by spendin time on cc looking at 2350's all day

Ashley, you need to look at published numbers for Asian internationals who actually go in. They are readily available. I would have to agree the ivies are a big reach. After that we need to know whether you are asking for financial aid to suggest schools.
