Hi, CC! I would love some advice...

On which schools to apply to. Basically, my list now is like 25 schools long. I'm kind of hoping that a great/prestigious school will randomly accept me. That's stupid though! I can't afford all of the application fees for one thing. So please, help me to narrow the schools down and let me know which schools hardly look at one's application holistically.

THANK YOU! ANY ADVICE ON ANYTHING IS APPRECIATED!

So, I did not do too well freshman/sophomore years of high school, but junior year was great. Huge upward trend.

I'm white a white girl from a large public school in central Florida.

I have around an unweighted GPA of 3.5 and weighted 4.0-4.1
Top 12%
I will be top 10% after 1st semester with a higher GPA (3.6 uw)
Shooting for at least a 2100 on SATs come October
AP World = 4
AP American History = 4
AP Lang = 4
AP Euro = 4

5 AP classes senior year and 1 community college class.

Total of 9 AP classes and all honors classes when available.

Community service will be at least 3 hours a week.

A few clubs, not an officer of anything.

I hope to paint myself in my applications as a lover of literature (which is true). This can also somewhat explain my lack of involvement in clubs.

So these are the big name schools that I'm interested in. I'd apply to any of these ED if I thought I had a chance.

Boston College
Davidson College (particularly enamored with)
Emory University
Haverford College
University of Florida
Vanderbilt University
Wake Forest University
Washington and Lee University
Wellesley College
Williams College (Just because their ED acceptance rate is kind of high...)

Thoughts?

THANK YOU SO MUCH, CC! I AM A LOST FOOL WITHOUT YOU!

Definitely try to go for a 2100+.

IMO, if you really love Davidson then apply ED. If you don’t, try ED at Williams or BC. Also, you should have no problem in getting into UF.

Hoped I helped :)

Honey, get those ECs up! And, do more in the community- 3 hours is low. Many of your schools have a rah-rah factor and they want kids who fit in- who love mingling, attending games, getting involved on committees, etc…AND love books. You must be able to present yourself as a success, just waiting to move yourself into their orbit. Show why a “great/prestigious school” should accept you.
