Hi everyone,

I applied to Jacobs University Bremen for EA I in late November and my application was completed in early January. For some reason, they still haven’t replied and when I emailed them about it they said my application was completed on February 22nd. Then they accepted this kid who applied for rolling admission, and they replied within 3 weeks of receiving his application, and his application was not even complete (probably because of his SAT’s since he got a 1370). I got a 1220, 630 for English and 590 for Math. And I am extremely worried about it. Anybody got any ideas what might be going on?

It would appear that you haven’t gotten a decision yet because your application wasn’t complete until February 22nd…

You say that you applied in November. My best guess is that some parts of your application may have taken longer to arrive, such as test scores or letters of recommendation.

If you are worried about not having received a decision yet, you can email them and ask when you can expect a decision.

I would not be worried because you know someone who got a decision in 3 weeks while you may have to wait for 6 or 8 weeks (the clock didn’t start ticking until Feb 22). This may just be a particularly busy time for the admissions office and your application may be close to the bottom of the pile (based on the Feb 22 completion date).

You see, that’s the thing. My test scores were received on January 2nd and the rest of my application was received before that. Plus on my status page, it says that my application was completed on January 2nd. What I can’t understand is how they dragged it all the way to February when it says otherwise on my status page.

Furthermore, like I said, the other kid applied in early March, and they got his test scores only a couple of days ago, with the rest of his application incomplete. I just can’t fit how they replied to him with an incomplete application in 3 weeks while I have to wait for more than two months.

You’re way overthinking this. It’s not like you can do anything to affect the outcome anyway at this point. I know it’s hard, but you’ll just have to wait…

Best of luck!
