Hi guys

I have a question: there was apparently a grad student in Caltech who used to go to my high school back in 86's and she was a fulbright scholar at Caltech in 1996. So if i were to apply to Caltech, (i would be the 2nd applicant applying to Caltech from my school EVER) would that give me a boost because Caltech MIGHT (a big MIGHT) assume that since i was from the school that i would also end up doing well at Caltech? IDK just curious.

Considering that she was at your school over 20 years ago, I’m going to go out on a limb and say probably not.

Four years ago, a guy from my school got in, and I think I’m the second to go from my school this fall. Nevertheless, I agree with the above poster in that I don’t think Caltech really looks for that. Just apply, be strong :)
