you have a good chance

Anyone else, please?

your definitely not getting in

troll

Obviously you're academically unbeatable. Your ECs are impressive and your recs should be good as well...I'll admit I don't know how hard it is to get into Yale as an international student, but you're definitely a contender. Good luck!

(Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/608723-i-d-adore-you-if-you-d-chance-me.html)

You're in, I would bet on it

You are looking good, but I would apply to more of the top Ivies as well, since one never knows. Consider Princeton, Columbia, and Dartmouth as well as Yale.

Good luck.

You have a great shot, but you never know with the Ivies. You should apply to Yale, along with some other Ivy's as well and maybe some of the "new ivies" or some of the top Liberal Arts Colleges. Many of these schools give really good financial aid. Wesleyan, for example, gives a lot of aid to their students. Columbia is good for financial aid as well.

Good Luck!

Thanks to the contributors so far. Any others?

What zfox? Is there something wrong with somebody getting perfect scores and having a better profile than you? You'll do fine, apply to other ivies as well.

No no no no not at all...i am totally comfortable with my scores and my grades. Im happy for people who do well. But do they really need to have chances threads?
come on
how is it that people that get perfect scores dont know that their chances or getting in somewhere are really good.
with 800s in almost everything an applicant is clearly in the top 10% of the applicants...even at a place like Yale. And with both that and a perfect ACT....
there are tons of threads and stats that show people who have perfect scores ge admitted at a rate of like 50%.
no reason to create a chance thread like this
you can search for data like that and know that your chances are good

Since you know he has perfect SAT and ACT scores, both of which are losing their credibility in admissions from what I've read (people with 2400's still get rejected if you don't recall and this is Yale, which happens to reject over half of the applying valedictorians), then you should look at his EC's. If I had 2400 SAT or 36 ACT, I'd feel great but I would not feel as though I had the slightest chance over anyone else at Yale or anything like that, unless I had his grades and EC's XD. The only thing that would make him seem slightly like a troll his when he says "crapshoot" at the top b/c he probably knows his stats are better than others but it doesn't necessarily help him like I said.

Bump please....

I think as an international things will be harder for you, but your stats are clearly superb and I imagine it really comes down to how much potential you show in your essays.

If those are very good, I think you'll be a winner!

Your application emanates a bright light of godliness for any school you apply to in the U.S. For Yale, however, I do not see that worldly, culturally diverse kind of student in you (besides Model UN).

Your essays, however, can definitely turn this around and boost your chance, especially because you are an international applicant. Your income will not help you, unfortunately, but again, with stellar essays showing how you can contribute to the United States AND the global community, I think you have a solid ticket in.

Good luck! :)

Thanks. Any other comments?

"For Yale, however, I do not see that worldly, culturally diverse kind of student in you"

That's sort of presumptuous, isn't it?

Yes it is, sorry. That's why I said the essays will help because you can never really tell JUST based on stats. With Yale and other great American schools, scores and grades don't matter much because everyone who applies there looks amazing in one way or another. THe essays, however, are what make the applicants truly stand out and I'm confident pete1991 can do a brilliant job with this :)

Right but extracurriculars count for slightly more, I'm sure.

BTW pete:

I actually do agree that great essays will get you in; however, I'm of the opinion that it's more of an average between ECs and essays, and you're ECs look strong to me. One question might be whether your Geography teacher is recent?

swoop, you alarm me when you suggest that the ideal candidate must be "worldly and culturally diverse". I play music - that can be considered a "cultural" activity. And I'm an international applicant, from an underrepresented nation - Australia. I also said that I'm Indian. Doesn't that make me "worldly" in some respect?

My essays are probably the best I've written, and I think I'm an above-average writer, having won several literary competitions at school. (I say that with a little arrogance.)

The geography teacher taught me 3 years ago, so he isn't a recent teacher.
