GPA: 3.033
Class rank: 334/601 (I know, yikes)
ACT: 25
Grades: Mostly A's and B's AFTER freshman year, but one or two C's.
Year: Senior

Activities: Amnesty International high school division (all four years), Scholastic Bowl (two years), International Club (one year), Newspaper staff (2 years & Op/Ed editor), Student of the Month for Foreign Language(October 2005)

No honors or AP classes, all regular. Well, I took Spanish 2 honors freshman year, but that didn't go so hot.

Yeah, not great, not even good, but I'm not exactly embarrassed by it either.

I want to study English or Journalism or something to that effect. So far I'm planning on applying to Northern Illinois University (I haven't really heard anything about their English program yet but I figured might as well), Columbia College Chicago.... And that's where I kind of stop. I know I need to apply to more, but I just don't know what is what. My counselor said I need a reach or to just to "try" but I don't want to waste application money on some RIDICULOUS aspiration....

Basically, I need a few "reasonable" reach schools that are good for English, etc, and also some matches because I really have no idea what some of these are in relation to me. I just need some college ideas and to know what my chances are so I don't fill the slot with reach schools...

Thanks in advance.
