Hi

Did anyone on here get into the fsu honors program? If so what were your stats mainly just your sat and sat and act scores thankyou.

I got in with an 1850 sat, 27 act, and a 3.6 u/w, it’s not really hard to get in.

I thought that FSU insisted on a minimum SAT of 1910 for admission to their honors program. Did you petition the school for honors?

Etherdome, sometimes you need to take such posts here [with a grain of salt](A grain of salt - Wikipedia).

[Zack: Post #1](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1062693550-post1.html):

No, they sent me an invitation to join the honors program in December, I just opted to go to UF. I know they have a minimum SAT so idk why they sent me an invite.

I would think it is due to other things in your application. FSU recognizes course rigor, individual talent or other special abilities in granting admission.

Why would someone, that has been accepted to another school, continue to patrol FSU’s board?

Is this common practice? If so, does anyone else find it a bit strange? If I made my decision to go to U of X, I would spend my time getting ready for U of X or simply relaxing and enjoying my summer.

I have noticed that quite a few UF people come to FSU’s boards and make useless comments. I am neither a 'Nole nor a 'Gator, but I have to admit that, on the internet, 'Gators don’t seem to be a well adjusted, happy lot. This is simply an anecdotal observation and should not be considered a scientific conclusion.

I got in.

33 ACT
3.7 UW, 4.2 W GPA

Because we are all one big happy family! You will see FSU folks on the UF board as well.

etherdome, you are VERY OBSERVANT!!! There is far more FSU bashing by UF students and alums then there is ever UF bashing by 'noles. And lately, lots of ■■■■■■■■ here on the FSU board, with snide comments. It is part of the whole gator nation attitude. We are just glad they did NOT choose FSU :).

My D attended a state SGA leadership conference at the end of her Junior and Senior years, as she was an SGA officer as a senior. The location rotates around, with different high schools sponsoring it and holding it year to year. It was in Gainesville one of those years, and Urban Meyer was a guest speaker. He was not a minute into his leadership speech when he started bashing the 'noles, FSU, Tallahassee. When he was booed, he asked a show of hands as to how many were going to FSU. When he realized his audience, he only toned it down a little. It didn’t matter, he had already lost a good bit of the audience. His comments were just rude and ridiculous. She never felt better about the fact she did not even apply to UF.

Get ready, it will be an interesting year. Gators will be in your face, and in your son’s face about UF.

etherdome… ever hear, Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

UF/FSU used to be a good rivalry. But don’t worry, I still have Nov 28th circled on my calendar! ;)

A lot of my friends go to UF. How close should I get to them? lulz

I didn’t know forum viewing the a school forum was an exclusive right, especially after all the recruiting P2n does on the UF board.

Regardless, many people apply to both schools, including me as of this year.

If I don’t get into either UNC or UF, which is unlikely, I haven’t ruled FSU off the table.

I don’t think anybody should.

Get admitted, ITG and you’ll be welcome at FSU. I’m sure the orange and blue will wash off.

It’s not. I certainly don’t complain when UF folks come here and respond to posts about their program strengths. I think this can be done in a reasonable way. Sometimes I may elect to rebut some points, but it is to me more about effectively getting good info to students with questions.

Since I come from a long line of FSU-UF grads I just don’t get worked up about it. The trick perhaps is to debate the issues…then stop. Some cannot seem to stop and either become insulting or just silly.
