If someone is thinking about going to NYC, I would advise Wagner College in Staten Island.

It has one of the most beautiful campuses you we ever see, great school, and it just minutes away from Lower Manhattan.

‘All of CUNY’s schools are commuter schools. Don’t expect a great, traditional college experience. Like I said before, DON’T APPLY UNLESS YOU LIVE IN NYC. Applying will be a waste of money.’

Some people would love that, I’ve seen plenty of anti-campuslike search threads on here

SUNY Binghamton…why?

A combination of economic value, seemingly strong career services, and well spoken kids who seem prepared for the workforce.

Disclaimer: I am only judging the school by its output and what recent grads have to say about the school and how successfull they are in finding jobs. I am not commenting anything else as I have no knowlege of that.

^^ SUNY Bing is probably the second most selective school in the SUNY system (SUNY Geneseo being the most selective).

actually, i would put any school with an acceptance rate of over 30 and very good academics on here
and schools that are well known but kind of disregarded
KENYON would deff. fit the above description

Tufts or Boston College

Everyone has their own definition as to what a “hidden gem” is. For me, when I think of hidden gems, I think of places that may have a more regional appeal, are not generally discussed on these type of national threads, but where the college or university has a track record of producing high quality graduates.

In that vein, a couple of schools come to my mind – Hiram College, Manchester College, Goshen College, Monmouth College, Truman State, Minnesota-Morris, Montevallo. All of these schools have relatively easy admission requirements, but expect a good deal from their students and have a track record of success. For example, Manchester, a relatively unknown school on the national level, has a very good track record of placing students into medical school and has a really strong undergraduate accounting program. I think that if you look at the schools on this list, you will find some great, underappreciated colleges and universities.

If you’re looking in Texas
Austin College
Southwestern
Trinity

Also, I have a list of colleges that accept at least 50% of students (easy to get into), have a 50% graduation rate (some measure of success) and lists the 75th percentile scores (weed out the non-gems?).

Bethany College in WV.

Beautiful campus, diverse student population, not very selective, about 1000 students.
