I'm a freshman at MIT, but since I'm not on campus for IAP, I figured I could get the quickest response here.

When/how do we receive first semester hidden grades? I can't find them on Websis.

are you just looking for the pass/fail grade, or your "real" grade? If you want the "real" grade, you might have to contact the prof. If you just want the pass/fail part, that should be on Websis. My son got his from Websis while he was home, only a couple of days after his last exam.

Hidden grades mean the "real" ones (not P/NR). Do you really have to contact the prof? I thought they were sent to us somehow.

My son told me he had to contact the profs for his hidden grades.

wat are hidden grades?

sachit - the hidden grades are the real grades (A, B, C, etc) rather than just the pass/fail grades they put on the official transcript for first semester freshmen.

Saving the day with the answer!

You'll get your hidden grades the next time you meet with your freshman advisor -- presumably on Reg Day.

Heh. Olin also has a pass/ no record grading system for first semester freshman and I still don't know what I got in most of my classes from that semester, which is probably a good thing :-)
