Hiding in Dorm over Break

Would it be possible to hide in my dorm Friday night after finals? I have nowhere else to stay and I can't go home until Saturday. Do you think anyone would find out?

You could have signed up for a Friday night stay over…

I’m aware of that. I can’t really afford to pay the $100 though.

You could always sleep under a freeway overpass.

I think they will deactivate your key if you hadn’t already signed up for the stayover. So make sure you eat a lot at dinner. Make sure it’s perfectly silent so you can hear if they’re going from room to room. Then you can hide under your bed.

I actually have no idea what the routine is.

I don’t mean to hijack the thread, but I’m not at UCLA now, not even in the US (quarter off), won’t be returning until Jan., and I didn’t check out of my dorm, will they “automatically” check me out?
The housing office told me to ask the front desk, but the front desk girl told me I wouldn’t need to, but I’m still skeptical.

what would happen if you didn’t “check out”? What’re you worried about?

Does anyone know the procedure for the RAs checking rooms?

r u a guy or a girl?
I don’t mind sheltering someone for a day or two =)

@jiceo1 You should call in or have someone call in to check you out

I could possibly house someone as well. Futon couch ftw.

^^^ We physically have to check out? Like go to the front desk and say peace *****es I’m leaving?

^I think you are supposed to, but I never did.

i think if you get caught doing this, you can get into some serious trouble. ucla housing is not very forgiving…

I’m a guy. Just tryin’ to figure out what to do here. Has anyone else heard of serious consequences for trying to hide in a dorm?

i’ve just called housing before when I’ve left and it’s been okay.

You can put duck tape on mechanisms just below the bolt on the door and it will give you keyless entry. Granted, anyone can get it in they just push the door, but it will appear closed so they shouldnt even bother. This is a post-room-inspection procedure btw.

cant you sleep in one of the departments or something?i knew a guy who slept in the physics building in my university for days on end.lol.

^Anyone know when Night Powell is over? =3

I know a great place in boelter :)

lol, nice suggestions…

I guess I should call in to check myself out just in case…

You will need good grades, but if you just transfer to USC they let you stay in the dorms throughout all the breaks. Public schools don’t allow such conveniences.
