I have noticed that schools like
Texas A&M
Arizona State ( very high)
Purdue
Iowa State ( very high)
why are there acceptance rate that high if they are all top 50 engineering colleges in the united states
and all of them are in the top 200 universities colleges in the world.
Low admission standards, high weed out/flunk out rates.
Arizona State is not at all selective in any major.
then why are they in the top ? @TomSrOfBoston
Research is what counts in worldwide rankings, not undergrad education or acceptance rates.
so are students from these universities who graduate with engineering degrees respected ?
@TomSrOfBoston
are these universities respected nationally for engineering ?
by the way thanks for the info your giving
@Ss8792 Absolutely. The courses are rigorous. If the school is ABET accredited it has to be respectable.
Yes, they are all good schools and well respected by employers. However low statted students who are admitted may not survive, at least not in engineering. Those who do in fact succeed and graduate will be well prepared for their careers.
As long as an engineering program is ABET accredited, it is a good program. Every state school has an interest in producing high quality engineers.
And do these schools differentiate their acceptance rates by program, or is it published for the whole school?
what I have seen is in most cases engineering is hard to enter for all colleges but still it is 60-70% of students who applied for engineering get accepted
Thank You all for you replies @mommdc @TomSrOfBoston @Much2learn
