High-caliber ECs at Berkeley?

I'm most likely going to be attending Berkeley for the class of 2018, and one of my goals for college is to join one or two ECs and push them to the max instead of spreading myself over loads of stuff that doesn't matter. Since there are clubs and organizations out the wazoo at Berkeley, I'm interested to know what are the most high-caliber, high-profile ECs on campus; I'm considering the Daily Californian and the ASUC, but are there any others?

I'm interested in a career in politics and am looking for activities that will provide good opportunities for serious leadership experience and also look good on internship/job/law school apps.

Any info is greatly appreciated! :)

Model United Nations is always a solid ec.

Edit: sorry! Just noticed you had ASUC in your original post. If you belong to a party, you could join the student club at Cal. My son joined Cal Dems and loves it.
