145K income per year for four people is almost three times the national average salary. Your EFC amount seems about right to me.

Seems high to me unless you have a second home or other significant resources?

we dont have a second home or other resources.

Our income was $125,000 and our EFC was $44,000. I do not think the OP's EFC is high given their income. Depending on assets etc, EFC is typically 1/4 to 1/3 of your gross income.
