High End Dorms

My daughter lives in two different worlds at her school, a “public ivy” know to have a huge percent of people with high SES. Her sorority friends are mostly very wealthy, full pay. She goes with them to eat out in expensive restaurants, has her laundry done by a service like her sosority friends and took a pricy fall break trip with them. Her other world are her friends in her nursing major. Most are students with loans and jobs. She chose to live with one of them this year literally saving us over 10 K from where she’d lived with her sorority friends the year before. They cook at home a lot and will take a trip over spring break that is twice as long as her fall trip and is 1/4 of the cost. She is one of the few people she knows who spends so much time in “ both worlds”.
