Our son was accepted at SU with some very nice merit aid. He’s very high-functioning ASD and we are looking at schools with an eye toward places that have supports for folks like him. He’s so high functioning that official ASD programs are sort of not a fit but he would thrive with a place that was sort of proactive in helping him fit in socially. I hope that makes sense…Does anybody know about how good SU is at dealing with these somewhat socially challenged kids? Thank you.
@MS1970, I can’t give you specific answers, but I will say that I have looked at a LOT of colleges the last few years (more than 20, for sure), and SU is THE friendliest one of all of them. My D has anxiety and the school has been great for her. She sees a counselor every week. She got good merit aid, also. I would try to visit the school and talk to them about your son and see what they can do. Good luck!
