High GPA and low SAT - what about the reverse?

I see a lot of people posting with really high GPA and really low SAT. What about those of us who are the opposite? I have a really high test score but really low grades because I have a lot of learning disorders, I go to a really hard school, and I have a lot of stuff to do so I cannot usually do my homework or study at all. I also keep losing my assignments.

My SAT is 2390 (790 in writing), only took once.

My classes are: 9th- Precalculus Honors BB-, Chemistry Honors CC+, English 1 C-C-, World History C-C, Art B+B+, Spanish I D+D+
10th- Calculus AB AP C+B, Biology AP CC, English 2 CC-, European History B-C+, PE AA-, Spanish II C-C-
11th- Calculus BC AP CC+, Physics B AP C+C+, English 3 C-C, US History D-D, Spanish III CC-, Statistics AP BB
12th- Physics C AP, Env. Science AP, Psychology AP, Economics AP, English 4, Computer Science A AP

Unfortunately neither Art nor PE counts toward GPA points, nor do all my + and -. So I have a 2.0 freshman year, 2.2 sophomore, and 2.0 junior for a total of 2.0625 un-weighted and 2.5 weighted GPAs.
AP scores 5- calculus AB, 5- calculus bc, 3- biology, 4- physics, 5- statistics

Now to explain: I have to work to take care of my family because we are dirt poor and my stepdad is terminally ill. I work every day from 3-9, except Sundays. I am in the Math Club at school but because of work I cannot be involved in any other extra-curriculars. In the summer I work even more. I use to play baseball but I can't anymore except for fun on the rare days I have free time.
I don't need you guys to tell me I'm dumb but I would like to know if I can even go to a 4 year college, or should I go to a community college. I'd be first in my family to go to college, or even to pass 9th grade. I want to go to a CSU but I don't know if they will have enough aid (I can't go unless it's 100% free) and if I can get into any of them.

When you go to college, are you going to have to still work a lot of hours to help support your family?

you are obviously an extremely intelligent person. You should have your story heard, i would read a book about you. You should apply to a university and tell them your story in the required essays. I dont know what you can do about your family, i am really sorry about your story, but i have a felling if you get it out there someone will step up and help you.

Your story is so much impressive and if you state these things in your personal essay, I’m sure it would be of great help. To apply for financial aid, you have to list your reasons as well as evidence which is required. Why not apply first and after receiving the offer, you may have more advantage and less pressure in applying for financial aid. Anyway, I wish you may succeed. Btw, community college is not good idea, at least it seems to me.

You might want to look into Questbridge.

Write about your circumstances in your essays. I’m really sorry about the conditions around you, and I admire how far you have come.

You still have a good chance with the college admission process, and I truly hope all goes well for you.

Well, first of all I’m really sorry to hear about your predicament. Despite the low grades, I can sense that your a really intelligent person, and it seems as though you have your priorities in order. If attending a 4 year college is feasible, write your heart out in the essays, and you never know. If not, community college is an option. I know plenty of people who, for whatever reason, had to attend a community college at first, and turned out really successful. Regardless, I wish you and your family the best of luck!

i think you meant High SAT and low GPA… lol!

If you are NMF you get to go to CSLB for free.

The OP will not make NMF with a 2.1 GPA.
