So my GPA is a 3.7, I’ve taken 6 AP’s and my core classes that aren’t AP are honors. Lots of extracurriculars. I took the new SAT in June and made a 1080…(I know, very low)…just recently I took it again in October and made THE EXACT same score. I thought that I would have improved a lot on the reading/english portion of the exam, but I didn’t. The 530 that I made on the reading/english definitely does not show what I can do. In my practice tests from Khan Academy I’ve gotten over a 600 on the reading/english section so this doesn’t make any sense to me.
The top 2 colleges I’ve applied to Early include Univ. of Georgia and Univ. of FL. Are my SAT scores so low that they won’t even consider me??? I know that now people say that the SAT isn’t a big of a factor as it used to be but it still worries me a lot. Should I retake the SAT again? I’ve been stressing out about this so much I don’t know what to do. Any help is appreciated.
Literally me. I do SO well in all my classes but it’s like standardized tests and me don’t get a long maybe it’s because I’m an international student. I have the same score and my dream school was UPenn but I realized that it’s the American college system and they will have no sympathy for me lol so I just changed all my schools to test optional schools and I’m using my national exam results and I’m hoping for the best.
If it’s any consolation my daughter had two C+'s on her transcript (supposedly the kiss of death), both for honors math classes, and then she scored a 730 last year on the SAT math section. She was accepted to great schools. I think they see all kinds of students, including those who are lopsided with test scores and grades. Thankfully, the application is viewed in it’s totality and it sounds like you have many other positive scholastic qualities.
