Is it just me, or does anyone else get suspicious when people say "yeah I have a 96 avg (UW), but I really bombed my SAT's 550 CR 620 M 580 W" I know SAT's are much different the school, but I don't think anyone will deny that smarter kids tend to score better on the SAT then not so smart kids. It seems like this is a great example of grade inflation or these kids just work REALLY hard in school. (If you haven't seen what I'm talking about, browse around the first couple of pages of "What are my chances.")

All the 3.9/4.0 UW in my class got SATs below 1800. They're not smart at all but the classes are easy. This is why you need the SAT - to weed out the not so smart, not to show how smart you are. Smart kids are not gonna let an SAT test get between them and good colleges.

well....at my school a lot of the ppl are smart and they do well but there are plenty of crappy ass gpa's that score high on SAT. partly because our classes are very difficult and everyone at my school is smart but doesnt try. so there you go. SAT doesnt measure cr ap so dont give it too much credit

a friend of mine only scored an 1860 is ranked 11/733 for our class. everyone who is ranked comparably scored 2100+, so it doesn't mean that the school is easy. Certain people fare better on these tests than others.
