high paying jobs on campus?

well...to get into the res halls dont you need to swipe in anyway? haha

Right, but Access Control makes sure that it stays that way -- lazy students sometimes prop the doors open with objects so that they wouldn't need to swipe in. However, that invokes all sorts of security loopholes for intruders, so Access Control stands guard to make sure the doors are closed by default unless they are propped open for a legitimate reason (e.g. Move-in Week) and to visually confirm that everyone entering the dorms late at night is actually a UCLA student.

thats good...i can feel safe at night knowing access is there to protect me and my fellow bruins. :)

I have a few questions regarding work-study postions:
-the work-study positions posted seem to amount to only a few hundred. are work-study positions generally not offered to most students?
-since I need lots of money, is it possible to work...out...all my allotted work-study hours and then get another non-work-study job afterwards?
-is it better to secure a work-study job now? or can I wait till I get on campus and get one then? most of the jobs posted don't seem very interesting...(I was hoping to get some library job).

Jason,

If you look at the safety statistics, hands-down the safest places to live on-campus are the halls with Access. You're also the least likely to have a theft in an Access-secured building.

flopsy,

Try propping most doors open, and the alarm goes off in about 30 seconds. The biggest problem isn't propped doors... it's idiot guests...

Daniel,

Frosh are most certainly allowed to apply.

yeah during orientation the amount of people going through the doors was so large that they were open for more than 30 seconds and the alarms kept going off.

The current list for work study is quite small .. will it expand soon?

my questions?
bump.

I want to work in a library....is it easy to get a job there?
